Practicing Mounted Shooting
Leo Update!
Great progress today! We successfully and confidently rode over ground poles! Yay!
So busy!
Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been posting many updates lately, it’s just that time of year. We are so busy with clinics, lessons and horses in training I’m surprised we get any sleep.
So I have some awesome news to share! My husband, Shelby Ahrens was selected by the Prodigious Fund as one of the competitors for their 100 day off the track thoroughbred challenge. Shelby is taking a active race horse and training it in a new discipline. This is a fantastic competition and we are both going to be really busy with our challenge horses. Sadly his competition is the same weekend as mine, so he will be in Washington while I will be in Oklahoma!
So back to Buddy and I… he is doing really well. He is such a solid riding horse and now I am working on refinement and just getting him out to see the world. We have been to several shows and we have placed in everyone, we even managed to get first! He also has been working colts and being a support horse while Shelby has started new horses.
Again, I want to thank my sponsors: Equis Feed and Elma Fed for helping me put weight on a underweight horse and help him perform! Team Equine Saddle Pads for a functional, beautiful and unique saddle pad. RES sport boots for keeping my horse’s legs protected.
